Gratitude 9June17 Strawberry Moon

EPA_strawberry_moon4_ml_160621_16x9_992Tonight’s sky will feature a full moon known as the Strawberry Moon or the Mini Moon. The size of the moon is smallest full moon of the year because right now the earths orbit is the furthest away from the moon.

The Farmer’s Almanac states it gets its names from Algonquin Tribe who watched for this moon as a sign to begin harvesting their ripened fruit, especially their strawberries.

As the summer solstice approaches, and our days get longer, we all are enjoying this extra sunshine. For those of you who are spiritual warriors, the June full moon is in Sagittarius.

Today I am thankful

  • I spent time with my Uncle today. He reminded me that there is joy in the simplest of things. We sat and watched a bird feeder outside his window as we talked.
  • I got these Diet Snapple Lemonade K-cups for my Keurig. They are so good iced.
  • I am enjoying this weather. I have no complaints.

They say when there is a full moon it is a time of letting go of what no longer serves you. A releasing of ways as you prepare for a new moon. Take a moment to reflect and be mindful; always be the best you.

affectionately yours, Laura
