Gratitude 5February16 Strong Women

I come from a long, strong line of women. My grandmothers, mother, sisters, and aunties. I consider myself to be blessed to have a powerful force in my DNA and to have women of strength come into my life.

IMG_1189It comes as no surprise then, that since I was a little girl, I have gravitated and admired strong women role models — Eleanor Roosevelt, Helen Keller, Marilyn Monroe — to name several of my favorites. They are women who were risk takers and stood firmly in their beliefs. They are women who galvanized and recognized their strengths and made the most of them.

Today I am thankful

  • My banana pineapple smoothie this morning
  • My baby girl is coming home
  • A great conversation with my brother

To this day, I keep myself surrounded with women of this caliber. My daughter, best friend and friends are who I look to for trail blazing. They are in my life, and I am grateful for their example of loving, tenacious, and perseverance behavior. It encourages me in times of challenge to keep pushing through.

affectionately yours, Laura
