“People want leadership. And in the absence of genuine leadership, they will listen to anyone who steps up to the microphone.”
The American President
While watching the news today, this quote from the movie The American President came to mind. It is along the lines of the quote rumored to be said by Lenin, “A lie told often enough becomes the truth.”
It would appear that is our world today. When you hear something enough, at some point your brain files it under fact. When in reality, there is no reality. As someone who has given many speeches in my professional life, the points I wanted people to remember, I would say three times in different manners. It is subliminal messaging. They say an excellent salesperson will do the same. It is the art of the deal.
Today I am thankful
- Time with one of my very favorite people
- Laundry is done
- The start of paperwork for 2015 taxes has begun
Do not take anything for granted. What is the old saying? “Take what you hear with a grain of salt.” Always leave room for checking on the truth and accuracy of statements that will effect your life and well being.
affectionately yours, Laura
