Tonight we will get to view July’s second full moon. Every month has a full moon, but because of the lunar cycle and the calendar year aren’t always in sync, every three years or so we end up having two full moons in a month.
Or, as the saying goes, once in a blue moon.
The moon actual isn’t blue as the saying implies. When the moon does have a colored hue to it, it is usually because of particles in the atmosphere. For example, a volcanic eruption or fire can cause the coloring.
So, if something out of the ordinary happens to you today, you will be right to say it was “once in a blue moon.”
Today I am thankful ..
~ A wonderful breeze coming in my window
~ My office is a work in progress
~ Happily there is nothing on the agenda this weekend
I wish you all a delightful evening of moon watching.
affectionately yours, Laura
