I was watching the 1994 version of Miracle on 34th Street earlier today. My favorite part is when the judge gives the verdict that there is a Santa Claus.
He bases his decision on the fact that on a dollar bill are the words “In God We Trust.” If the government can believe in a being unseen, but believed in, there can also be a Santa.
By definition, faith is complete trust or confidence in someone or something. It is stated in the Bible Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
I believe in God even though I have never seen him. I believe in air even though I can’t see that. I believe in love, fairies and yes, Santa too. In this magical season of Christmas, it is in that faith we believe and thrive.
Today I am thankful ..
- My favorite jeans with the holes in the knees.
- My new tea maker from Molly Cakes. Love it!
- I have been rocking Christmas music all day.
In one of the final scenes in the 1994 version of The Miracle on 34th Street, Santa turns to his attorney and say’s “I shall never forget you. And in all my troubles past, and all my troubles to come, I’ll never find a better friend.” That sums up my feelings for each of you.
affectionately yours, Laura
