Gratitude 12Sept14 Mother Nature needs Prozac

I have come to the conclusion that Mother Nature is bi-polar. By definition, bi-polar disorder is a condition in which a person has periods of extreme happiness, followed by extreme depression. Our dear Mother Nature appears to be going for one extreme to the other.

If you think about our weather over the past year, I make my case that Mother Nature has some serious issues going on. We go from extreme cold to really hot. We have not experienced a consistent and balanced behavior in the form of weather from Mother Nature for quite some time.

In an effort to help Mother Nature, I have come up with several options. One would be to send up a space rocket on a regular basis. It would be designed to explode and give her massive doses of valium and Prozac. Two, start large fires of medicinal marijuana and hope she would get a contact and calm the hell down.

Being a life-long Minnesotan, one of the things I love about this state is the change of seasons. Each season brings with it, its own beauty. Recently, each season has brought with it more extreme weather conditions. Like last winter’s 40+ days of below zero weather. This summer’s record breaking rain fall and humidity was quite miserable and hard on the hair.

As we enter into the glorious autumn season, I am optimistically hopeful and ready for anything!

Today I am thankful for …

  • My fall decorations are out.
  • The ebb and flow of life.
  • An ending is always a new beginning.

Be ready. Today is in the 50’s. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the low 70’s. Got to love it, it makes life interesting! Do something kind for someone. Pay it forward.

affectionately yours, Laura
