I am a big fan of Oprah’s show on her network, OWN, called Master Class. The OWN website describes the show as “an unprecedented first-person insight into the brilliant minds of the famous people we love, respect and admire.”
Master Class is a show with a variety of people who give narrative of their lives and lessons learned. What’s interesting is, it’s not an interview. It’s the individual sitting in a spotlight, per say, talking. Some of the people I have seen are .. Tom Brokaw, Jane Fonda, Morgan Freeman, Stevie Nicks, Lenny Kravitz, Goldie Hawn, Justin Timberlake .. and the list goes on.
All different people from all walks of life and backgrounds. They all came to be who they are through life lessons. This show makes the saying “Life is a classroom. We are both student and teacher” a living reality. Each talking and gifting the audience with their gems of wisdom from their life lessons. In the moments of expression it would seem they may have learned something new about themselves as well. Every so often you will see a look of surprise, laughter or a “did I just say that?” moment on the show.
While watching Tim McGraw last night, I was reminded that people are just people despite their success. Which is an aspect of the show that I find so fascinating. The people featured open themselves to self-evaluation of their highs and lows of life to teach others. Thus, providing a “master” class for all.
Today I am thankful for ..
